Beth Buehler Named Chief Operating Officer
Laura Frerer-Schmidt Promoted to SVP/Managing Director of Women’s Health and Corporate Sales
New York, NY (September 8, 2016) - Rodale Inc. today announced two key appointments: Beth Buehler has been named Chief Operating Officer, a newly created position for the company; Laura Frerer-Schmidt has been elevated to SVP/Managing Director of Women’s Health and Corporate Sales.
Buehler, who most recently served as SVP, Digital, will be responsible for improving business processes and operating performance metrics across the organization to drive long-term growth.
“Beth will work across our teams to ensure Rodale has the most nimble, scalable infrastructure to create and capitalize on revenue-generating opportunities,” said Chairman and CEO, Maria Rodale. “A strategic thinker, astute problem solver and collaborative partner, I am confident that her strong digital background and varied skill set will enable her to further align and integrate our systems and unlock greater growth opportunities for the company.”
Effective immediately, Buehler will oversee the business operations for several integral areas across the company, including: eCommerce, Marketing, Direct Products, Business Operations, Digital Revenue Operations, Editorial Production, Business Developments/Digital Partnerships, Digital Products and Software Development.
Prior to joining Rodale in 2013, Buehler held several key positions within News Corporation at Dow Jones & Company, most recently as Head of Business Management. In that role, she led several global cross functional business units including the Consumer and Enterprise Strategic Partnerships and the Data, Analytics and Insights teams.
Frerer-Schmidt, who has propelled growth at Women’s Health for five consecutive years, will now also lead the Corporate Sales team, selling integrated programs that serve a wide array of advertiser needs across all of the company’s brands. She will also have oversight of corporate branding to ensure that Rodale’s positioning within the marketplace provides the competitive edge and solutions-based selling approach needed in today’s constantly changing media landscape.

Prior to joining Rodale in 2011, Frerer-Schmidt was the Associate Publisher of Self. Previously, she was the National Advertising Director at Teen Vogue and has held various posts at W, Vogue and New Woman.
